Accessibility is about making your website available to the widest possible audience. The Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) which came into full effect in October 2004 requires service providers to ensure that disabled users are not discriminated against or disadvantaged when accessing information or services. This includes information and services provided online. Accessibility is not just about disability but can be applied across a broad spectrum of potential users e.g. those who do not have the latest technology, those who don't have broadband, those who view websites on mobile phones or PDAs. |
